A DOG NAMED CHEWIE

Remember months back, jelly and i had a gathering of all her siblings at a dog run in Pasir Ris. We interacted with the rest of the puppies, swapped stories and photos and laughed at our dogs' silly antics. We kept in touch via a group chat and though all of us weren't very active, occasional messages and photos were exchanged once in a while.

A few weeks back, i was contacted by one of the owners who asked if he could pass his dog to me for safekeeping while he attended an urgent job meeting in UK for 3 weeks. He was flying off on Monday and was reluctant to pass his dog to a pet hotel. I agreed and long story short, Chewie came to bunked in with me for the past 3 weeks.

The youngest of 5 and the flufflier, whiter, shorter and bigger version of jelly.

This coming Monday, he will be leaving us and return to his owner and home. This past 3 weeks have been nothing short of amazing. Yes, having an extra dog is another huge ton of work and this boy can be naughty at times, exceptionally hard to groom, greedy and plays too rough but he is also very affectionate, loves his tummy rubs, obedient and learns fast. I am definitely going to miss this boy:)

I've started to document his stay with us before he leaves and when i see him in his favourite spots in the house, i grab my polaroid and take a snapshot for both his owner and i for keepsakes.

Here are the ones that will go home with him.

ABC DATING - F

F for Food Bentos and Forts
Our F date was something that we had never done before. First we decided to re-create the famous japanese bentos which is something that clever people with artistic talents, patience and a penchant for cute things like to do. And second, we built a blanket fort in my living room much to my amusement:)

'
While you can use any kind of ingredients you want to make your bento more attractive, for us novices, we stuck to the basic ingredients using only
Sushi rice, Seaweed, Carrots, Sausages and Lettuce.
And this is what we came up with

Mine

And Tim's

The second part of our F date was our Fort Night.
Blanket forts are easy to built because all you need are blankets and spaces. Then make use of your surroundings like tables and chairs to create a cozy space where the two of you can just pretend to be kids all over again and bond.

In my case, i had the advantage of our sofa bed which we rolled out, placed a bamboo pole in between our two cabinets, draped and secured our blankets to the pole and to supporting chairs underneath, throw in some pillows, bolsters and favourite soft toys and voila! our blanket fort was done!

There was so much more we could do but it was almost midnight and i had work the next day so suffice to say, i just wanted to "get it over and done with" and catch some winks.
Not very romantic but i still had a special time with Tim.

I hope you guys enjoyed our F date as much as i had!
Always glad that Tim is game to play out my crazy suggestions.
Next up is G:)

Melissa

ABC DATING - E

E for ENJOY
We spent our E date with our friends at Casa Verde in Botanic Gardens. It was a great time catching up with old friends, eating delicious food and being in good company with lots of laughter. Always an entertainment to have my good friends around and this time, we brought chewie and jelly along with us. It's tiring as hell to run and look after two dogs but im satisfied to say it was worth it to see those happy dogs exploring with my buddies.

Pictures away.

BOYFRIEND

I can never be grateful enough for the amount of joy this guy has brought into my life. While i may not appreciate it all the time or cherish him as much as i should, i am thankful that he chooses to stand by me despite all my flaws and bad habits and loves me for the average person that i am.

He is incredible, a great source of strength, a trusted companion and my best friend.
Love you boyfriend.

Till then.

GRAFFITI

Surprise find on the underground passageways of Clarke Quay.

I must be a mountain turtle because i am pretty sure that almost everyone including our tourists have checked this place out but here i am only going crazy over a piece of art that embraces our local culture now. My favourite is probably the samsui woman saying "O.T." (last picture) but the lion creature (first picture) comes in at a close second.

Talent. i have none but this graffiti infused walls of ours gets a thumbs up from me
